About Me
My name is Barbara Howard and I live in Shropshire with my husband, two sons and three Birman cats. After many years of enjoying a wide variety of handicrafts, (a selection of which are shown below) I was introduced to silk painting in May 2000 by June Gregory my embroidery teacher and quickly became obsessed. I discovered I could combine my love of water colours with my experience of embroidery to create unique hand stitched silk designs, as shown in my gallery View Gallery.
The designs below are a selection of my work over the years. A variety of embroidery techniques and stitches have been used including shadow-work, black-work, crewel stitch embroidery, long-stitch, hardanger embroidery, bobbin lace and canvas work. The designs below are examples only and are not for sale.
