Scissor Template
(Acrobat format)
Card - cut 1 of each card template
|

On reverse of fabric, with a light colored fabric
pencil, draw around fabric template x 2 of both sizes. Using card template,
draw on inside of fabric line as shown. |
|

Tack inside line on small template with light colored
thread, to give a guide when working on your design. |

Using
2 strands of green thread, stitch
stalks using straight stitch as above |
Using blue/pink 2mm ribbon, work ribbon stitch for the flower buds |
|

Using double sided tape, stick wadding to card template on one side
only. This will face the scissors on large pattern and face
the embroidery on smaller pattern
|
With right sides together using black thread, backstitch using inner line as stitch
guide. Leave top open to insert the card
|

Turn the fabric inside out, so the front is now on the
outside. Insert the card with wadding attached, trimming if necessary to
fit and neatly stitch the top edges close
|
|

Stitch front and back together, starting at curve and
ending at opposite curve, (as indicated by pins) making sure you have
enough room to slip the scissors in
|

Using 4mm ribbon, running stitch down center and
gather to fit outside edge. Use small tacking stitch attached to
outside edge as shown. Now using a french knot, attach ribbon bow
and then attached tassels.
